Named after the youngest son of the Saxon Elector. He was the second victim of the Saxon Prinzenraubes 1455th He and his descendants were on the Elbe the leading family. (Albrechtsburg in Meissen).

PRINZENRAUB Raum 1+2

The Saxon Prinzenraub took place in 1455 at the Altenburg Castle and is thus documented as the first kidnapping. The 2 children of the Saxon Elector August the Gentle were deported to Hartenstein. In the Prinzenhöhle you hid first both boys, then Prince Ernst remained there. While a second group of kidnappers with Prince Albrecht to Waschleithe moved on. The kidnapper, Kunz von Kaufungen, and his men in Hartenstein were caught.
